Sephora Favorites and Best of Sephora: If you do a search for Best of Sephora on Sephora’s website you can find Sephora’s Favorites which also includes beauty products that have won their Best of Sephora seal. Throughout the years I have used Sephora Favorites to find great, quality beauty products that have actually become some of my favorites. In their Complexion catergory under Foundation, BareMinerals SPF 15, a Best of Sephora winner, is my favorite summer time foundation. Another product I love in this catergory under Tinted Moisturizer is Laura Mercier’s Tinted Moisturizer which also happened to win Best of Sephora. Lastly, another favorite I share with Sephora is Nars Blush in Orgasm which won also won Best of Sephora and happens to be Sephora’s Favorite Blush.

2. Top Ten Lists: Recently I stumbled upon their Top Ten Lists which really excited me. Sephora’s Top Ten Lists include the following categories: Suncreens, Most Searched For Products, Bronzers, Value Sets, Moisturizers, Basics, Tools, and Natural & Organic. Sephora’s Top 10 Most Searched For Products is a great way to find products that others are seaking out and totally gives me beauty inspiration. 3. Sephora Picks: Basically a random list of around 40 products that Sephora lists as their picks. I love finding fun little things to try like LAVANILA deodorant in Lavender, Coconut, Vanilla etc.

Sephora Approves 1,400 Natural Products

Sephora now has a seal of approval for all products that have naturally derived formulas. They have over 1,400 products for sale that meet this requirement.

With so many products getting Sephora’s Natural Ingredient Seal of Approval, I was a bit suspicious of their requirements.

Is this seal something that I will use to determine what beauty products I buy? Sadly, the answer is no. Sephora says their “natural brands” include powerful formulas of antioxidants, botanicals and essential oils with fewer to no GMO’s.

Bottom line, almost every beauty product now claims to have some “powerful” ingredient,” but if Sephora’s Natural Ingredient Seal of Approval fails to weed out ALL products that contain parabens, petrochemicals, sulfates, etc. than really what is the point?

David Babaii for WildAid Hair Products

Honestly, what more could you want from a hair product?? David Babaii, hairdresser to the stars, and Kate Hudson teamed up to create the PERFECT set of hair products and they did all the things I would have done if I started up my own line of beauty products. The products are made from exotic natural and renewable ingredients like Polyonesian White Ginger. They are definetly not tested on animals and free from nasty chemicals and sulfates. In fact, they are so passionate about animals that they donate 10% of all profits to WildAid, a global wildlife conservation organization. Oh, and did I mention the products work GREAT, smell amazing, and are sold at Target for a reasonable price. I mean honestly, does it get any better than this?

Dermalogica

I have been a fan of Dermalogica skin care for over 10 years. I first started working with Dermalogica at a spa in the Napa Valley. Using their products on a daily basis gave me the opportunity to see what a great line they offered and still offer. This is a skin care line developed through research at The International Dermal Institute. I knew Dermalgoica was great because I saw results. What I didn’t know was how much knowledge went into ingredient development until I took a biological science course on the medicinal studies of plants. The plant substances studied by scientific researchers for medicinal purposes matched up with the ingredients that went into Dermalogica’s skin line. This was the first time I saw a skin care line using a scientific basis to build their product line unlike so many that claim patented skin technologies without regards to what is scientifically researched and studied.

I have to say that Dermalogica fits perfectly with its name; skin care that makes sense.

Laura Mercier

This brand was recommended by a friend whose makeup always looked clean and natural. I went to a Laura Mercier counter at Nordstroms and spoke with a representative. She pointed out a few items I might like. I had her put a natural looking foundation on me which blended nicely into my skin. I fell in love with their color palates. All of the items such as the lip and eye liners were very soft looking along with some rich eye shadows that were not overdone. If you are looking to find a subtle line of makeup I would strongly suggest Laura Mercier.

Nars Cosmetics

I can’t say how much I admire the Nars line of cosmetics. Overall, they offer a great deal of fine products. From their bright nail polishes, to their soft blushes and silky lip glosses, they have an array of choices that keep me coming back. Nars is colorful enough to be fun, yet they remain sophisticated in make up palates. They capture a wide market with their ability to fit nicely with most skin shades. Nars cosmetic products bring out natural beauty and give it a stylish twist.
