The parties are planned, the dates are marked on your calendar and now it’s time to get your holiday look.

One of my favorites every year is the Chanel Holiday Collection. This year it includes a limited edition translucent gold loose powder, two shades of festive nail colors, and the always lovely lip and eyeshadow quads. Get the look

Another nice holiday combination is DiorLight by Dior which incorporates soft shimmery golden hues and delicate pearly pastels. However I am not fond of the gimmicky Star Product which is too flashy and really not too practical to wear or stuff in a clutch. See if DiorLight is a Holiday Must Have for you.

Speaking of glamorous compacts: Mac has a 6 different collections which offer antiqued, vintage looks inspiring old fashioned glamour with a modern edgy appeal. My favorite is the Finery Collection which includes the Ruling Class Lipsticks. I could have stolen them right from Marie Antoniette’s herself.

I have a brand new house to take care of and no time to do it. I tend to just give up when the task becomes overwhelming but now that I feel all grown up it is time to show a little respect towards my dwellings. I suppose there is a tendency to gain a sense of pride of ownership once you stop renting.

Anyway, what usually gives me a boost in my “Cleaning Moods” is when I read nifty little tips on cleaning. Generally I find that Real Simple along with the occasional Martha Stewart and a few other magazines have pretty informative articles on cleaning. I will read them and perhaps pick up a trick or two.

However, recently I bought the Real Simple Cleaning “Your Room-by-Room Guide to a Beautiful House” which is actually more like a bound book with a sturdy cover, beautiful pictures and 128 pages of GREAT tips on cleaning.
